about

"Bells of Christmas Eve is an ode to this season of advent - a time of slowing down, waiting and anticipating for more in our lives, our countries; longing for a more joyful world, abundant with a hope that we do not fully see, but that is beyond what we can ever imagine.

The bells of Christmas eve,
let us wait for ringing bells
waiting for the King to come
let us ring our deepest gongs

waiting for this eve to come
let them ring, let us sing
jingle bells, jingle bells,
King, now won’t you come

I wrote Bells of Christmas Eve during the advent season of 2010 and revised it a couple of weeks ago for my friend, Salome Scheidegger, to record. It is based on the main motif of Jingle Bells stripped of its high-energy and boisterous connotations, played by solo piano."
